I had but a short time to know Roy, being new to the Seattle EFT Community in 2023. However, during a small training he lead, I quickly got the sense of what an amazing, skilled, and kind person he was. I am sad knowing that his presence and leadership will be missed.

Roys empathy for human struggle.

It's been hard for me to come here to write a message because it makes it more real to me that he is gone, and I am so sad about that. I was blessed to have Roy agree to be my supervisor in January 2010 when I had been smitten with EFT near the end of my graduate program. Presently I'm not having any particular stories come to mind (I imagine they'll come back over time as I move through my grieving process) but rather the way he made me feel. As someone who has been riddled with shame my whole life, it has been huge that Roy helped me to feel like I'm OK, and although I still struggled for far longer than I would have cared to be the case, I felt his genuine love, care, and gentleness which meant so much to me, and went a long ways towards me being able to have that for myself, and being able to get certified in EFT under Roy. I take comfort by someone suggesting that Roy will live on through me and the many people he so beautifully touched. - Edan Zebooloon

Roy was one of my supervisors through both my journey towards licensure as well as towards becoming a Certified EFT Therapist.  He was highly knowledgeable about the various requirements that a therapist should consider for licensure, especially in the technical areas including ethics.  (He won AAMFT Supervisor of the Year previously.) He was also very skilled in breaking down the various components of the EFT cycle and passing on the knowledge of how to track clients effectively within the model. 

One of the memories of Roy that really stays with me the most is when he shared a video of one of his dance performances.  That experience left me with a sense that there was so much more to Roy beyond the supervisor and trainer that I knew.  I envision him joyfully dancing with the angels now.

 "Some EFT is better than no EFT". This frequent line of Roy's from my Corse Skills training has often brought me encouragement. Especially early in my EFT journey but even today when a block shows up and keeps me from staying on the EFT roadmap. Passing on the line has also given many of my supervises reassurance as well. Thanks Roy.
